Arrival Information

Congratulations on your admission to St. Joseph’s University, New York!

Make sure to bring the following documents to the International Admission office within 2 weeks of your arrival in the U.S.:

  • Immunization documents
  • Stamped I-20
  • I-94 Card (which will be stapled in your passport opposite your visa)
  • A photocopy of your course registration for your first semester
  • The Information about maintaining your F-1 Status document. You are required to sign this document and a copy will be kept in your records to indicate you understand your responsibilities as an F-1 student at St Joseph’s College.

Although you may have your Form I-20 before this date, U.S. law prohibits entering the U.S. more than 30 days before your program start date indicated on your Form I-20. DO NOT attempt to use your Form I-20 to enter the U.S. earlier than this date, you may be returned to your home country or asked to pay a fee to be admitted as a tourist, which will not permit you to attend school.

The latest you are able to arrive in the U.S. appears on your Form I-20. If you are not able to arrive by this date,please contact our office immediately. Do not make plans to come to the U.S. after this date. Immigration can deny your entry if you arrive after this date.

You must report to the Admissions office within 2 weeks of the start of classes.
