Internships

Our students do applied internships in such settings as:

  • Homeless shelters
  • Developmental centers serving at-risk children and families
  • Crisis hotline programs
  • Domestic violence agencies
  • Court mandated programs
  • Substance abuse programs

For applied internships, junior and senior psychology majors enroll in PSY 400 Internship in Psychology, which involves an 80-hour field placement in a clinical setting or other site involving applied psychology. Students receive on-site supervision as well as oversight by a mentor from our full-time faculty. Contact Professor Paul Ginnetty ([email protected]) for more information.

Also gain practical experience in our service learning courses;

  • Community psychology
  • Travel abroad (e.g.,  Oxford, Romania)

and are offered internships in research laboratories.
