Scholarships

For scholarship consideration, the University recommends that all forms (admissions application, high school records and SAT results [if submitted]) be received by the Office of Admissions on or before March 15 for fall entering students and January 1 for spring entering students.

Top Tier Scholarships

Entering first year students with exemplary grades and an academically challenging curriculum throughout their secondary school record will be considered. Top Tier scholarships begin at $20,000 per year and are limited.

Scholastic Achievement Awards and Incentive Grants

All admitted students will be considered for Scholastic Achievement Scholarships and Grants. These four-year awards range from $14,000 - $18,000, depending on academic and co-curricular qualifications.

Alumni Grant

Admitted first-year students who share a recognized alumni bond will be considered for this grant. The Alumni Grant may be combined with some awards, however, the combination of awards cannot exceed tuition.

Catholic School Grant

This $4,000 grant is awarded to students who enroll in St. Joseph's University after graduating from a Catholic high school. It is awarded annually for up to four years of undergraduate study to students who are not eligible for other scholastic achievement awards.

Tuition Exchange Programs

St. Joseph's University participates in two tuition exchange programs: Tuition Exchange, Inc. and ClC-TEP. Students whose parents or legal guardians teach or work at colleges affiliated with these programs may be considered for tuition remission awards.

Other Scholarships and Grants

Students who demonstrate financial need, special interest, academic promise will be considered. Award amounts vary according to financial need and available funds.

St. Joseph's University participates in the following federal programs: Pell Grant, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), College Work Study Program, Perkins Loan and Family Education Loan Programs/Stafford and Plus Loans. New York State Programs

We participate in the following state programs: Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) for full-time students and Aid for Part-Time Study (APTS) for part-time students. Academic Achievement Scholarship

St. Joseph's University offers competitive scholarships for transfer students who have a minimum GPA of 2.8. Awards range from $10,000 to $15,000 and can be offered for the length of study as outlined below:

• 2.8 – 2.99: $10,000
• 3.0 – 3.39: $12,000
• 3.4 – 3.69: $14,000
• 3.7 – 4.00: $15,000

Students will be informed of their scholarship eligibility with their offer of admission.

Alumni Grant

Admitted first-year students who share a recognized alumni bond will be considered for this grant. The Alumni Grant may be combined with some awards, however, the combination of awards cannot exceed tuition.

Phi Theta Kappa (National Honor Society for Community Colleges)

Students with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA immediately after receiving a two-year degree are eligible for this award. Proof of membership must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. A maximum of ten $1,000 scholarships per year are awarded upon graduation from a community college.

Awards range from $2,500 to $6,000 for part-time students and can be offered for the length of study as outlined below:

• 2.8 – 2.99: $2,500
• 3.0 – 3.39: $4,000
• 3.4 – 3.69: $5,000
• 3.7 – 4.00: $6,000
