Studio Art

Studio Art

The arts embody some of the highest aspirations of the human spirit.  The St. Joseph's University Art Department introduces students to the depth of this form of human expression.  Studio art courses guide students in discovering their creative potential through the creation of works that address technical proficiency, conceptual exploration and self-expression.

Studio courses include: graphic design, web design, drawing, painting, printmaking, traditional and digital photography, sculpture, ceramics, and crafts.  Art History courses span prehistoric through the modern era, and examine contemporary visual culture.

Studio Art Minors are required to take 15 credits of studio courses and 3 credits of art theory/history for a total of 18 credits (9 must be above the 100 level).
