SJC Earns U.S. News & World Report High Ranking for 2018

September 13, 2017

BROOKLYN AND PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – September 13, 2017 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) was recently ranked as a Best Value School by U.S. News & World Report. SJC is ranked 8th for Best Value in the Regional Universities-North category. SJC was also ranked as a top college in the north along with Molloy College, NYIT and LIU Post.

“This ranking represents what SJC's staff, students and faculty work so hard to accomplish each year,” said Donald R. Boomgaarden, Ph.D., president of St. Joseph's College.  “Every semester, we offer a deep and multi-faceted education to a student population of thousands—and with a realistic price tag—so our alumni are well-suited for the economy they will face after graduation.”

With campuses in Brooklyn, Long Island and Online, SJC was selected to this year’s list of top Regional Universities–North based upon its high graduation and retention rates; assessment of excellence; faculty resources; student selectivity; financial resources; graduation rate performance; and alumni giving. According to U.S. News & World Report, the Best Value Schools listing takes into account the Best Colleges ranking and the 2016-17 net cost of tuition and fees for a student who received the average level of need-based financial aid; thus, the higher the quality of the program and the lower the cost, the better the deal.

This ranking marks the third time the College was recently recognized for its distinctive value proposition of academic excellence at an affordable cost—SJC was also named to Forbes Magazine and Washington Monthly's annual higher education issues.
